Mary Wollstonecraft's literary location is The Polygon, St. Pancras, London. The author of A Vindication of the Rights of Women spent the last months before her death following the birth of her child Mary in 1797 living here with husband William Godwin. The building no longer exists, but a plaque marks the spot. Godwin would later inadvertently ruin her reputation with his frank biography of her life, so that for a century afterwards her early feminist writing was ignored, completely overshadowed by her “scandalous” reputation. Her daughter Mary would go on to write Frankenstein and marry the poet Shelley. We have a Mary Shelley sticker, too. Why not put both of these amazing mother and daughter writers on your car?
